Sycan River

One of the partners Hubs works with told him about this river for fishing. We thought we would go check it out. It was such a beautiful place. It was literally in the middle of nowhere. I was a bit concerned about the wildlife, but thankfully we didn't see any. Hubs said he was really only concerned about cougars. Glad he told me that AFTER we had left. The river was low enough the kids could play in it without much worry. The water was really cold! And the kids got to use their new camelbacks we got them. Hubs was able to do some fishing and caught a few small trout.

This was Hubs holding the crawdad. But Mac found it, he yelled to daddy, "Daddy, I found a lobster!"
He wouldn't catch it so daddy did. Then we talked Mac in to at least holding it.

He kept following the crawdad down the river and trying to catch it himself. He picked it up for a brief second a few times.

We could have stayed all day, but the mosquitoes were eating us alive. I couldn't take much more of it! We all woke up the next morning with at least 3 bites on each of our limbs.

We stopped in a little town named Bly and got a treat. There always needs to be a treat at the end of a day trip like that.

Love this photo. Wish it wasn't blurry.
