He knows alot about that!

When I found out the The Cat in the Hat was coming to our town I got really excited, because I knew Mac would love it. He isn't a huge fan of the PBS cartoon, but has actually learned a few things from it. (he talks about echo location every once in awhile). It took everything in me not to tell Mac about getting to see him until the day of. I didn't want to be asked about it everyday only to end up in meltdown because we wouldn't be going that very minute. I also wasn't 100% sure that we would go.
We got there a bit early and was very surprised to see so many people there already. We hurried and got in line to be able to get Mac's picture taken with him. Mac and Oak were both so good and patient with standing in line. Thankfully we also weren't that far down the line and once it started moving it moved quickly because it wasn't really a time to visit with him (he didn't talk) it was just a time to say hi and say "cheese!"
Once we got up to him, Mac was a little hesitant (although he was SO excited during our wait in line). But usually all it takes is for me to say "give him five" and that will do the trick. By the time we had done that, there were about a million more people there and I was getting claustrophobic and we headed out.
Mac was happy and I was happy that I was able to take Mac to do something fun!

Fun filled day!

We actually woke up to the snow that the weather man had been tempting us with. I really don't like snow, but was excited because Mac loves playing in it and he was excited about it!

We had alot of fun today:
*Grandma W stayed the night.
*Grandma made pancakes for breakfast.
*We played in the snow and made snow men with our neighborhood friends (Oak even came out in it for a little while).
*We drank hot chocolate.
*We had pizza for lunch.
*Zonked on the couch.
*We painted and made caterpillars out of egg carton.
*We went on a walk and found worms to put in a container.
*We made footprints in the snow.
*We jumped in mud puddles.
*We made sugar cookies and decorated them.

What I have been {LOVING} the last week or so!

~My motivation to get some projects/crafts done.
~The new holes in the knees of Mac's jeans. It seriously puts a smile on my face thinking about it!
~That I found some nice and sturdy backpacks on clearance at Walmart for $2 to use for our 72 hr kits.
~That Mac learned to spell his name and that he is excited about it.
~The idea I came up with instead of a "chore chart".
~Listening to Hubs's family this weekend tell funny stories about when they were kids and laughing so hard.
~That Jessica (Hubs's little sister) came to visit and brought her boyfriend for us to meet (and he is great by the way).
~That my eight year old niece and my sister-in-law both said that their cheeks hurt after holding and playing with Oak from smiling so much.
~Visits with Oak's birth family.

Oak is {6 months}

Weight: 20 lbs. (95th percentile)

Height 27.5 in. (95th percentile)

*she has completely ditched her binky and now sucks her thumb. She mostly does it when she is tired or hungry.

*When she is tired or eating she covers her face with her arms or hands. And she usually falls asleep that way too.
*She is now constantly rolling from tummy to back and back to tummy. So she can get around!

*Her legs or feet are constantly moving. She twists her ankles in circles alot and sometimes she stares at them when she is doing that.

*She started rice cereal this month and just started baby food on Sunday the 13th. It was green beans and she LOVED every bite, she ate the whole stage 1 container!

*She is still drooling like crazy but I still don't see any teeth.

*She pushes up with her hands when she is on her tummy.

*She is sitting up pretty much all by herself for more than 5 minutes at a time.

*She loves to be held and really loves constant attention.

*She is rarely ever crabby and is just such a happy baby.

*She takes one short morning nap (about 1 hour) and one long afternoon nap (at least 2 hours).

*She still likes to go to bed around 6:30pm and sleeps at least 12 hours, usually.

*When you unbuckle her from her car seat, she acts like she is can't stand being in her car seat one more second.

*She is super ticklish.

*She stands straight when you hold her hands.

*she has rolls galore and we love every single one!

*she wears 12 month size clothes.

*She like to suck on her left foot.

*She is in a size 4 diaper.

Faves of my baby girl!

Here are some faves of Oak over the last 6 months (can you believe she will 6 months in two day!). She is seriously growing way too fast, I don't like it! She is semi mobile now, which I am totally not ready for. Semi, meaning she is rolling, rolling, rolling, rolling everywhere. Right now it isn't to get anywhere, but just that she can do it now. Love this girl!
