the last week...

Last Sunday the sun came back out after a few cloudy days.
We went on a walk but it was still cold and our ears were hurting.

Of course daddy is a jungle gym. Not daddy's favorite thing to be but sometimes he humors them and just suffers through while they have fun.

Mac has been working on subtraction. This day we were using bugs as manipulatives.

A couple of times a week I let the kids pick out a Leap Frog video. This one was Leap Frog talking word factory and the DVD includes a game that the kids enjoyed playing.

Working on making -at words.

Oaks putting together some word puzzles.
She hasn't been very into school lately, or at wanting to do any structured school where there are sometimes guidelines or rules.

We watched Toy Story 3 and the next morning Mac asked for a tortilla after found the Mr. Potato Head parts. It was so cute and funny

The kids did pretty good last week at finding things to do themselves with out me having to entertain them or find a way to entertain them. Here Mac spent a good 30 minutes drawing comic books.

We had to make a quick trip (like we were there less than 48 hours) to our old house to pack up the rest of our stuff since our house sale is closing this week. And we stayed at Hubs' parents house. Just thought this was cute of Oak with Grandpa.

While at my in'laws house, and after we had put the kids to bed Hubs and I had a date night watching a chick flick up in their new bonus room on their amazing down couch.

The kids were playing the piano and grandma house.

Oak finally got to meet her new cousin baby E.

A late night game of connect 4 with grandma!

After spending the entire day Friday packing up and loading the trailer with all of our stuff, and moving our heavy piano over to my inlaws house we said goodbye to our house for good. Bittersweet!

We got back to K Falls on Saturday afternoon and Mac actually was really helpful with unloading our stuff into our garage. But when he was done he ended up playing in the mud. And quite surprising for Mac he didn't end up completely covered in it. Just his boots and hands.

My parents helped us move and my dad pulled the trailer behind his truck for us. On Sunday after church it was so nice outside that we wanted to go explore a little and see the lake.

Oak spent a good deal of time fixing my hair Sunday night.

The last two weeks...

My dad right after his first cataract surgery.

Mac decided that it was Scruffy's birthday. Mac goes no where without him!

My parents had some camping lanterns in their house and my kids played camping almost every single night right before bed.

Hubs's brother and his wife had their first baby and she is so cute! She had some breathing complications at first and ended up in the NICU for a few days but is home doing good now.

We only did homeschool a few days while we were out of town. But I found a few fun ideas that helped Mac enjoy it. Sight word tic-tac-toe.

Reading BOB books to Grandpa.

Mac wanted to do something with learning about bones. So we pulled out the freezer paper and traced their bodies then I gave them a diagram of bones in the body.

I was impressed with Mac's attention to detail. I loved his brain and the thinking cloud coming out of it.

Mac has been getting quite creative with his legos lately. He used to mostly just play with the people but he is making some cool ships now.

Sharing water, cute!

Oak has been working on recognizing her lower case letters. This was super simple to put together.

While we were at my parents house they had another snow storm. It snowed a lot. It was the no fun powdery stuff. You just can't do much but sled in it.

We did however make snow cream for the first time. Other then the fact that I don't like ice cream and I put way too much sugar in it, it was pretty good.

It was rough trying to keep these kids entertained with activities while stuck in the house. But they found grandma's straws and the tape and came up with their own thing. They made straw boats and insisted on racing them in the tub.

Straw boat races in the tub!

We played alot of mexican railroad dominoes. Mac always catches on to games quickly and this one was no exception.

Poor baby girl woke up with a fever  one night while at gma and gpas. Then later during the day she threw up all over her, me, the family room, bathroom and the bathtub. She has never thrown up like that before. She ended up with a high fever of 104.2 and just was miserable.

She refused to go and lay down but just wanted to sit in the recliner and she would doze of every once in awhile. She usually never sits still and you could tell that she wasn't wanting to sit still but still didn't feel good. So every once in awhile she would get up and go sit somewhere else for a few minutes and then realize she was more comfortable in the recliner.

On top of the snow storm there was a ice storm and everything was covered in ice. Almost everyone was without power. Thankfully my parents were only without power for about two hours in the middle of the day and then for about 12 hours through the night.

Mac helping make dinner. Taco soup!

Another project to keep the kids busy. Painting frames.

For some odd reason Oak wrote her name and Mac's name completely backwards so that when you put it in the mirror it looks right. She can totally do it right so not sure except maybe she is a genius :)

After the ice melted the snow was wet enough for a snow man.

Mac and I tried to make a snow fort but he bailed on me then I go tired of doing it by myself.

This boys eyelashes!

I got to go snuggle my new niece. She is the  most mellow, sweet little thing.

Mac trying on my dad's sheriff jacket from back in the day.

Me and my girl!

This boy LOVES his grandpa Dick. And that might be an understatement.

It was quite the fiasco to get to this movie but after the fourth try we finally got to see it. I liked it, the kids loved it!

My sorry attempt at making a heart out of Oak's hair. I am trying to be more creative with her hair and she is a bit obsessed with me braiding her hair lately.

We took donuts to daddy's office for all the employees (all 9 of them) for valentines day and we visited with daddy a bit.

After that we went to the children's museum. So glad that we got a year membership so we can go anytime.
