Oak's birthDAY!

I still am in denial that this girl is five instead of four! We had a super fun day. Mac stayed up the night before and helped me decorate for the morning. He loved that and Oak loved all the decorations. Although she won't be getting a "friend" party this year, she chose the theme of rainbow. It was a fun theme. I loved how the rainbow stacked pancakes turned out. And Daddy did an amazing job with her cake. She had both her grandma's here to spend the day with her and she picked going to see the Minnion movie as her activity. (Not a great movie by the way...too many inappropriate parts that should not be in a kids movie.)

FIVE...

There are so many things I can say about this girl at the age of five. First off, she is pretty much amazing. And if I had to pick a daughter out of all the girls in the world, it would definitely be her.

She really has an amazing smile as you can tell. She makes everyone smile in return. Everyone she comes in contact with loves her.

She has become quite attached to mommy and daddy lately. Her separation anxiety has escalated. I'm actually trying to take advantage of it with more snuggles and hand holding.

She loves to laugh! Seriously! She loves to be silly and say silly things and then just laugh and laugh about it.

She is a lover. She just loves people, babies, animals, nature, food, helping, reading books, stuffed animals.

She is still pretty attached to her bear.

She says the most beautiful, thoughtful prayers. But doesn't always like to say them when asked.
She doesn't like to cry in front of people. And has a sensitive heart when someone is hurt.

Seriously cute, right?!

She is obviously big for her age like she always has been. She doesn't go to the doctor for a couple of weeks, but I wouldn't doubt if she was above the 95% for everything. She has never been below that. She is almost as tall as big brother and wears size 7 clothes and size 11 shoes. Her hair is very long and curly still.

She loves to run and move and exercise. She loves to help around the house except for folding and putting away her clothes.

She is very smart. She is probably about at a end of kindergarten level for everything. She can read three letter words like CVC words. She is starting to figure math out really well. She never forgets anything and just has a crazy good memory.

She makes friends easily and loves to talk to others and tell them everything about her. She asks questions constantly. Sometimes repeating the same question expecting a different answer I guess.

She most definitely was born to sparkle.

She is loved and adored by her family and birth family and all that know her.

Last year I realized I had taken a similar picture for her third birthday so now I have made it a tradition. These will be fun to look at over the years.

Preschool graduation...

Oak graduated from Preschool this week. Although we homeschool and plan to keep homeschooling I felt that it was important for Oak to go this year for a few reasons. She has loved every bit of it and her teacher and class was so much fun. She is excited to now officially be a kindergartner!
Ms. Nicole had a sweet little graduation and after she always throws a super fun carnival for all the kids and their families and all her friends and their kids.

Four year photos. FINALLY!

The planets aligned and I was finally able to do Oak's four year old photos, two months late. I hadn't planned on taking her pics this day but she actually had a decent outfit on (she chooses her own clothes most days) and her hair was actually really cute and I had some time with just her and it wasn't raining. It was perfect. I did however have to bribe her with gum. Which worked like a charm.
I love how they turned out.

sick girl...

This poor girl started out with a fever Sunday night and it lasted all the way to Thursday night. She never takes naps and rarely falls asleep in the car and everyday she would lay down on the couch and fall asleep. She was pretty miserable. She was so good while she was sick. Once her fever broke she kind of turned into a terror. And everything has upset her and when she is upset she hates everything and everyone. There has been alot of screaming and yelling coming from this girl. It has been quite exhausting to be patient with her. But isn't she just beautiful?!

Oak's Frozen Tea Party...

So I promised my kids we would have friend birthday parties this year. I am thinking it won't happen for another five years, it is way too much work and I really enjoy our little family birthday adventures. Anyway Oak chose to have a Frozen Tea Party. I ended up buying some pretty punch cups at Goodwill and then found a teapot for cheap at a cute little boutique. I am simple when it comes to things like this, so it was pretty simple.

We had a frozen drink and daddy made a frozen castle. She loved it!

We made little Olaf's

And dressed like a snowman. The kids loved this!

We also threw snowballs (marshmallows) to break down an ice castle (clear plastic cups).

Right before sitting down for the tea party part of the party, they all got lipgloss, sparkles on their faces and their fingernails painted. It was so much fun!

I told everyone that she had gotten plenty for her birthday so thankfully they kept it very light with gifts. Some beautiful drawings, a princess book, a bracelet and a little stuffed frog. It was perfect!

It was fun but I am so glad it is over!
