week 43

We have had such nice weather this week. So we made sure to spend a lot of time outside before the snow hits for the winter.

 A walk along the river.

Almost every morning the kids have gotten up to play chess with each other.

We found some leaves to play in and we had fun throwing them at each other.

This park has me swooning every single season. Can you even believe those trees?!

Ready for Trunk-or-treat. The weather was perfect.

 A bike ride.

 homeschool costume party.

Kids built a fort while daddy and I mucked out the chicken coop.

I was not into pumpkin carving and tried to put it off for as long as possible. But then it ended up being a pretty quick and fun activity.

The kids made up their own faces this year I I think they turned out really cute.

week 41 & 42

Mac always reading a history book.

We have taken gluten out of Mac's diet and these gluten free cookies don't look very good but they were yummy.

My favorite thing to do is read to my kids.

Hubs and I got to go on a day date to the Temple.

Now that Oak has become such a good reader she is following in her brothers footsteps and always has a book in hand.

We found these ducks randomly in our yard. They are obviously somebody's ducks and not wild. We put them in with our chickens until we could find their owner or a place for them. I did not like taking care of them at all. They were messy and required way more water than I wanted to deal with during the winter. Thankfully our neighbor down the road who already owns 50 ducks took them off our hands

I found Oak in her bed before lights our measuring things and writing it down. I promised her the next day I would show her how to measure and write measurements down correctly. She was very excited.
We had plans to go to the pumpkin patch but woke up to snow. But we didn't let that stop us.

It was cold and wet but the kids loved it.

week 40

We headed up north for some doctors appointments and decided to go to the farm to do the corn maze. We don't have one where we live so we were taking advantage. It was such a beautiful day.

I bought the kids a bag of sand that had rocks in them for them to "mine". They both love rocks so it was a fun splurge.

When we are in town for doctors appointments we try to stop by and see our old neighbors. These kids spent four years as neighbors and were best friends. It is crazy that we lived there for four years and now it has been almost four years since we moved.

Oak went on a date with her birthmom so Mac and I went on a little date Toys R Us.

On our way back home we took a detour to explore. The weather was so beautiful.

A homeschool guided PE hike that we do once a month.

We spent a whole other saturday putting the wrap on. This ended up being much easier than we thought it would be.

For some odd reason the kids got up after sunday dinner and started doing the dishes. Weird.

Mac always takes a lot of books with him to bed to read until he falls asleep. I always have to go in after he sleeps and take all of them off so they won't fall off in the night and wake ME up because it never wakes him up.
