week 39

Oak got back on her bike finally after her accident that got her stitches.

Oak has really enjoyed doing school in my bed in the morning before I am even out of bed.

I bought an online drawing/painting course for the kids. Their first one turned out great!.

 Nice weather for the park.

 Oak's notes for General Conference.

They just keep getting prettier and prettier!

Cute kids next to the sunflower in our yard.

week 38

We started school! The kids were very ready and excited!

We did a bit of geography and our morning basket for the first day of school.

We read a book about the number Pi so Oak decided she wanted to write down as many of the numbers of Pi that she could.

I took Mac to the family history center and he loved it. He really loves history and family history so this has been really good for him.

 Oak started gymnastics.

Mac really wanted to paint Oak's nails.

Mac loves to bake and he was making a treat for poetry tea time.

Oak loves painting so we practiced our water coloring.

I babysit a girl once a week who also homeschools. She brings a few pages of work with her and Mac was trying to help her.

Hubs and I built this hoop house together. It took us an entire saturday to get this far. And it felt like we had problems with every step but it was a lot of fun working together. We are also really excited to extend our growing season in the spring and fall next year.

week 37

I went out to the chicken coop and found this little guy. Apparently Mac had set the trap when he went to let the chickens out in the morning.

We headed over the mountain for school clothes shopping. It was very successful.

We got a new math game for school called Math Dice Jr. It is great!

Sometimes when he starts getting mouthy, rude and has a bad attitude I make him wash all the windows. It only took two whole windows before his attitude changed.

Hubs made plum jam with the plums from our tree.

A falcon was pestering our chickens and the kids were really worried. This is Mac praying that our chickens will be safe from the falcon.

 Sunday is for journal writing.

The kids and I got fathers blessings for the school year. A cherished tradition.

week 36

This cute boy and his big blue eyes and cute freckled face. Love him.

While all the public school kids had their first day of school we went to the park. We weren't planning to start homeschooling for a couple more weeks.

Sometimes they really like each other.

While Mac was at taekwondo Oak and I went on a walk.

A homeschool field trip to a bird preserve.

Drawing what we saw in our nature notebooks.

We went to the fair again this year and this time daddy rode all the rides with the kids. They loved it.

Hubs making grape jam with grapes from our yard.

And a cute daddy brushing out his little girls hair.

week 35

Mac and his buddy at the library after a play date together.

Always reading and it makes me happy.

They wanted to watch Star Wars therefore they felt the need to get dressed up.

I made a back to school banner.

We had waited all summer for this park to open. We drove by it almost every day as we drove in to town. Finally the day came! And it was a blast, besides there being SO many people there for the grand opening. It is an amazing park and my kids love going there.

We rearranged Oak's room. She has been wanting her bed up against the wall forever. And we finally did it. It actually has helped her to keep her room cleaner, but it is harder to make her big bed.

And this hardworking hubby finished up this spot for me now if I only would finish it by painting. I hate painting.

The end of summer was full of smoke. There were several forest fires in our state and several within 50 miles of us. So it looked like this out our window for several weeks. We couldn't go outside it was so bad.

Here is a comparison of what our view usually is compared to the smoke.
