week 12

Oak wanted me to sit on her lap. She thought it was hilarious.

My 38th birthday. Unfortunately I had a killer soar throat. And getting sick went down hill after that. We didn't do much during the day but then we went out to dinner and had yummy strawberry shortcake...

Mac had been begging to a marshmallow and toothpick activity so I finally got the stuff.

Loving poetry tea time.

Oak's copy work. Her handwriting is so stinking cute and sweet.

Just thought they looked cute.

Dad put the kids to work Saturday. He let them play a little too but mostly work and they did a great job at helping.

The weather was so nice and they were working so hard so I brought them lunch outside.

We promised them a treat after working so hard. So we had root beer floats and watched a movie. Look at their rosy cheeks after their shower.

weeks 10 & 11

So our fridge after breaking down on us and $900 later finally died and we had to buy another one. Even though we didn't want to have to buy a whole new expensive appliance we found a great deal on this one and we love it. And it's nice to not have to walk a whole flight of stairs down to the garage to our extra fridge.

After a year Gloria has finally joined the rest of our chicken flock. She was sleeping in her own little spot in the coop building but not in the coop with the rest of the chickens. When I went to lock up the chickens one night I found her in roosting in the coop with the rest of the chickens.

 Doing a puzzle with grandma.

The weather was so nice once Friday that we decided to grab some subway sandwiches and go on a nature walk then eat lunch at the park.

Look at that hair.

Mac had his annual check up. So I took him to lunch afterwards.

Playing in the mud.

It's a lot of work and clothes get ruined but I really love that my kids can play in the mud.

 Barefoot swinging.

Chasing chickens and playing outside before breakfast.

Some friends wanted to play so I took them to the park and then we played along the lake. Once again they got dirty and loved it.

week 9

I pretty much sported my hoodie and dangling earrings all winter. But I am totally ready for spring.

What dinner looks like when daddy works late.

The kids got the embroidery stuff out again.

Mac making his cake for blue and gold banquet.

Mac made this about 95% by himself. The only thing he didn't do was the hat rim. I think he did a fantastic job.

For some reason Mac is much sweeter to his sister at bed time. Her leg was hurting and she couldn't go to sleep so he ran to her bedside to read to her to take her mind of the pain.

I purged five bags plus of stuff from our closet and the linen closet. It felt so good. I still have a long ways to go to get more out of our house.

Oak hated that she couldn't help Mac with his cake so she got the left overs and made her own cake.

I found this fun book at Goodwill. Mac loved it.

We started doing Poetry "tea" time every Thursday. The kids LOVE it and hate when we miss doing it. The day we started happened to be Dr. Seuss's birthday and so we read Horton Hears a Who.

A beautiful and warm day so we headed to the park. I hadn't felt very good because of a headache but it felt so good to be outside.

Oak's cute basketball pic.

My mom, who lives with us, likes to do the dishes so I rarely have to do them. It's nice but then when she gone it is hard for me to get back in the groove of doing them.

Cute girl in my bed with her special bear.

I loved this cute picture Oak drew.

Doing a little family history on Sunday. This is a book of pics of Hubs as a kid.
