another fun week...

Monday we ended up inviting some friends to the park.

I have been wanting a chest freezer for years but just didn't feel like I needed one yet. Well now that we are renting and we have an extremely small freezer and I would like to get some meat in bulk we made the leap. I am so excited about it!

The kids have been having a hard time lately finding things to do together on their own (that isn't rough housing) so I have had to bring out a few things to remind them of what we have. They loved making this, what ever it is! I have had to use the tactic, "go get a puzzle or game!" to get them settled down. They can take rough housing too far and they have a hard time coming down from the chaos.

Oak had her first friend birthday party.
(Post on that coming soon)

I think Oak has been going through a growth spurt, because she has been hungry constantly and eating way more than usual and she has been MOODY! The morning I took this was about 8:30am and she had no less than 14 meltdowns/tantrums already. It took every ounce of patience and sanity to get through it. Then she was fine the rest of the day.

Our ZOO!
This boy has also been a rough customer and really difficult and just blatantly mean to his sister. So I figured out I that I think he is needing a bit more one on one time. So everyday at the beginning of quiet time I spend  at least 15 minutes playing with them what ever they want. We have all loved it!

Oak wanted to play with her new Legos and make her an ice castle. She loved it!

We also hit up the library to return books and get more. Mac went straight for the "spooky" section.

This was such a cute moment and totally made me smile. She was looking through one of Mac's spooky books about Ghost towns and every time she turned the page I heard her whisper under breath, "don't be scared...don't be scared...don't be scared." Oh and the look on her face.

This was the best. Daddy had just gotten home and he went to change clothes. The kids all of a sudden started planning something and Mac made this sign and left it on our bed with a nerf gun for daddy.

Challenge accepted!
I got to listen to all the screams and squeals while I made dinner.

We hadn't been to the children's museum in a while so we decided to go on Friday. The kids had a blast.

This is Mac's favorite room.

Oak and I on the fire engine.

Love these kids, even when they drive me totally nuts!

Oak drew this adorable elephant. I can hardly handle the cuteness! See the toe nails?! I die!

We were saving the princess by knocking down the tower. She was laughing so hard she couldn't breath.

Getting ready for school to start. This is my little homeschool corner with all of our supplies. I also have a cubby/closet for of other stuff. Hopefully curriculum will get here this next week and then we will be close to being ready! Yay! Excited and terrified!

We went on a little hike/walk and did a bit of bird watching. It was fun!
I made everyone take a picture with me.

Love my little family!

This little one had an independent streak last night and kept politely asking if she could do everything, like wash her hair, and brush her hair out. It was so cute watching her brush her own hair. I had this rush of OH NO, where is my little girl when I was watching her do this.

a little hike and bird watching...

Oak's Frozen Tea Party...

So I promised my kids we would have friend birthday parties this year. I am thinking it won't happen for another five years, it is way too much work and I really enjoy our little family birthday adventures. Anyway Oak chose to have a Frozen Tea Party. I ended up buying some pretty punch cups at Goodwill and then found a teapot for cheap at a cute little boutique. I am simple when it comes to things like this, so it was pretty simple.

We had a frozen drink and daddy made a frozen castle. She loved it!

We made little Olaf's

And dressed like a snowman. The kids loved this!

We also threw snowballs (marshmallows) to break down an ice castle (clear plastic cups).

Right before sitting down for the tea party part of the party, they all got lipgloss, sparkles on their faces and their fingernails painted. It was so much fun!

I told everyone that she had gotten plenty for her birthday so thankfully they kept it very light with gifts. Some beautiful drawings, a princess book, a bracelet and a little stuffed frog. It was perfect!

It was fun but I am so glad it is over!
