Just a lot of playing this week...

I started out the week with us doing a bit of schoolwork but we didn't do much the rest of the week.
It's summer right?!

My kids really dislike going to a park when there is no one else to play with. We are quickly learning that late afternoon isn't the popular time anymore now that school is out.
Photo: Two other red headed kids showed up with their grandma. Mac asked the kid if he wanted to play and he said he wanted to play catch with his grandma. So Mac went and sat on the grass like this watching them. He slowly inched forward every minute or so until the grandma finally asked him he wanted to play.

The boys ended up really getting along and neither of them wanted to leave when it was time to go home.

One morning the kids found a sticky note pad and used every single one writing warnings or their names and put them all over the window and a few throughout the house. And they are still there!

Mac took a selfie!

I am a bit obsessed with the sunsets here!

A friend who lives a little over an hour away invited me to meet up with her and some of her friends at a half way point called Lake of The Woods. It had been on my calendar for a few weeks. We hadn't seen any rain or bad weather in weeks also. The day before our trip to meet up it was beautiful and 80 degrees. We woke up the next morning to rain and it was really cold. But that didn't stop any of us! And most definitely didn't stop Mac from swimming. Crazy kid!

Oak and her bed head. Seriously, picture never do it justice.

Being silly right before we were to leave for swim lessons.

More silliness right before we were to leave for swim lessons.

There is a playground right out side the Y where we take swim lessons. The kids are always wanting to play on it.

Across the street from our house is a field and a big dirt pile. It is the neighborhood "playground". The kids love it and pretty much played there every chance they got.

Oak playing on the dirt hill.

We have gone bowling several times since there isn't much to do here and we signed the kids up for the summer kids bowl free program. And every single time Oak throws a fit about something. This time it was her socks felt funny.

So we learned about this game the last time we were at the lakehouse. My kids loved it, so we bought our own. It is a really good brain game. It's called Spot It. The cards have a bunch of pictures on them and every two cards has ONE picture in common and you have to be the first to spot it. There are several ways you can play and the kids are actually really good at it.

This is our neighbors and they got to jump on the tramp with the sprinkler under it. They loved it!

There was no time for going home and changing into her swim suit.

Our neighbor was preparing for her garage sale and the kids had fun playing in the tires.

These two girls are becoming the best of friends. She is a super sweet girl!

We only put a few things out for the garage sale. But our sweet neighbors got stuff so the kids could have a drink stand. They made a ton and were able to split all the money the made between the five kids and they each got $4.50.

Love the cute sign they made. They each wrote a word.

The neighbor on the other side of us, also did a garage sale and even though they don't have any little kids they put this slip n slide out for the kids to play on. They had a blast.

I let each of my kids drink one soda. Which is a huge rarity! And Oak carried hers around forever just taking little sips and her orange soda mustache totally cracked me up. And isn't she just so beautiful?!

The girls were in and out of our house all day and one time they came out with these wings on.

Okay, so totally mother of the year here! The kids were outside playing with the neighbor friends from 8am to 4pm. I did attempt to put spray on sunscreen once but it was windy and then they were playing in the water alot. So by the end of the day they were both really burnt. But they had a total blast!

They both were out with in minutes of being put to bed.

Oak got to eat the first two red cherry tomatoes off her tomato plant.

Other things we did this week. We got the breaks fixed on the van and also got 4 new tires. Mac finished his third session of swim lessons and Oak finished her second session. We will do another session, maybe, in August. The kids turned in their first week of reading for the library summer reading program and got a little prize. And that is all I can think of.
