Just a lot of playing this week...

I started out the week with us doing a bit of schoolwork but we didn't do much the rest of the week.
It's summer right?!

My kids really dislike going to a park when there is no one else to play with. We are quickly learning that late afternoon isn't the popular time anymore now that school is out.
Photo: Two other red headed kids showed up with their grandma. Mac asked the kid if he wanted to play and he said he wanted to play catch with his grandma. So Mac went and sat on the grass like this watching them. He slowly inched forward every minute or so until the grandma finally asked him he wanted to play.

The boys ended up really getting along and neither of them wanted to leave when it was time to go home.

One morning the kids found a sticky note pad and used every single one writing warnings or their names and put them all over the window and a few throughout the house. And they are still there!

Mac took a selfie!

I am a bit obsessed with the sunsets here!

A friend who lives a little over an hour away invited me to meet up with her and some of her friends at a half way point called Lake of The Woods. It had been on my calendar for a few weeks. We hadn't seen any rain or bad weather in weeks also. The day before our trip to meet up it was beautiful and 80 degrees. We woke up the next morning to rain and it was really cold. But that didn't stop any of us! And most definitely didn't stop Mac from swimming. Crazy kid!

Oak and her bed head. Seriously, picture never do it justice.

Being silly right before we were to leave for swim lessons.

More silliness right before we were to leave for swim lessons.

There is a playground right out side the Y where we take swim lessons. The kids are always wanting to play on it.

Across the street from our house is a field and a big dirt pile. It is the neighborhood "playground". The kids love it and pretty much played there every chance they got.

Oak playing on the dirt hill.

We have gone bowling several times since there isn't much to do here and we signed the kids up for the summer kids bowl free program. And every single time Oak throws a fit about something. This time it was her socks felt funny.

So we learned about this game the last time we were at the lakehouse. My kids loved it, so we bought our own. It is a really good brain game. It's called Spot It. The cards have a bunch of pictures on them and every two cards has ONE picture in common and you have to be the first to spot it. There are several ways you can play and the kids are actually really good at it.

This is our neighbors and they got to jump on the tramp with the sprinkler under it. They loved it!

There was no time for going home and changing into her swim suit.

Our neighbor was preparing for her garage sale and the kids had fun playing in the tires.

These two girls are becoming the best of friends. She is a super sweet girl!

We only put a few things out for the garage sale. But our sweet neighbors got stuff so the kids could have a drink stand. They made a ton and were able to split all the money the made between the five kids and they each got $4.50.

Love the cute sign they made. They each wrote a word.

The neighbor on the other side of us, also did a garage sale and even though they don't have any little kids they put this slip n slide out for the kids to play on. They had a blast.

I let each of my kids drink one soda. Which is a huge rarity! And Oak carried hers around forever just taking little sips and her orange soda mustache totally cracked me up. And isn't she just so beautiful?!

The girls were in and out of our house all day and one time they came out with these wings on.

Okay, so totally mother of the year here! The kids were outside playing with the neighbor friends from 8am to 4pm. I did attempt to put spray on sunscreen once but it was windy and then they were playing in the water alot. So by the end of the day they were both really burnt. But they had a total blast!

They both were out with in minutes of being put to bed.

Oak got to eat the first two red cherry tomatoes off her tomato plant.

Other things we did this week. We got the breaks fixed on the van and also got 4 new tires. Mac finished his third session of swim lessons and Oak finished her second session. We will do another session, maybe, in August. The kids turned in their first week of reading for the library summer reading program and got a little prize. And that is all I can think of.

another day at the park...

Another week of just everyday stuff...

Stuff we did not pictured:
Signed up for the library summer reading program. Swim lessons everyday!! I got new contacts but I still can't see as well as I should.  And the kids both helped me declutter their rooms. Hubs' dad came for an overnight stay so that they could do some fishing.

Oak has had a stuffy/runny nose and so they have been asking for essential oils on their feet. They were being so silly laying there waiting for their feet to soak up the oils.

We have made Mac save $10 this time before he could spend his money. Well he finally got it thanks to finding the golden hatchet at the campout. So he decided he wanted to get two mixels. He has the hardest time choosing something when there are too many things to choose from.

They were eating a snack and watching a show and I thought  they just looked so cute sitting on the counter together.

Oak really wanted daddy to braid her hair when he got home from work.

Mac got some new books from Grandma and the kids prefer daddy to read to them.

Oaks room was a disaster and she was having a hard time getting it clean without supervision. This was after she had already been working on her room by herself for nearly two hours. I refused to clean it for her but I did help her here and there.

Mac took my phone and not only took a selfie but also pictures of everything in his room.

Feeling like a super hero lately when I feed my kids a healthy lunch and they actually eat it all.

We went to the park one night before bed and as the kids were wrestling with the daddy in the grass I sat and watched them while sitting on the swing. Then Oak had to come over and push me and give me "underdogs".

There was also a bit of swing twirling. Oak loved this!

Oak came into our room at 6:50 am dressed as spider man. I told her she was so cute and she say, "Spider Man is NOT cute!...well when he was a baby he was." And then she started to fret about her hair because spider man doesn't have hair.

Just playing at the Y park after swim lessons.

They were very serious about this book. It was kindof funny.

And a beautiful sunset. And it was even more beautiful in person.

I dropped off Oak at our friends house and picked up their son (who is Mac's best friend) to take to a Primary party. Oak loves their oldest daughter because she is always willing to do her hair. I got this text from my friend not long after I left.

Oak and his friend J. They are great buddies and so much alike.

This is Mac's primary teacher. She has been amazing and Mac loves her! She loves Mac despite is difficulties in church. She just got released and we are sad. She did however throw the kids a little party at the park as a goodbye. Thankfully we just live down the street from them and we can see them anytime.

Got this text from my friend too. They were decorating shields. She also went with them to scout day camp to watch the egg drop inventions.

Just a little fun at the store.

Grandpa Greg came to fish with Hubs. Mac was so excited!

We went to the park for a bit on Saturday and although it was only 68 degrees it felt much hotter so we didn't stay long. But I did talk the kids into taking pictures of me with them.

Once daddy got home from fishing we went and saw How To Train Your Dragon 2. I loved it! So did the kids!
