12 weeks...

(...yesterday!)
I really can't believe that Mac is already 12 weeks old, and that next week he will be 3 months. Time has really flown by! Oh how I love spending my days with this little guy!

He is so interactive and smiles everytime you smile at him. He always has a fist in his mouth and I just think it is the cutest thing (except for the part of it making his hands stinky!) He is just now starting to be ok with being on his tummy. Part of it is that we started doing his tummy time on a boppy (that my SIL so kindly gave me). He is even getting more tolerant of his car seat and he loves being in the front pack!
Isn't he just so handsome...

Update...

Well I just found out that the Temple will be closed when I would like our sealing to be. Hubs's mother is out of town until the middle of August.

So the NEW approximate date for Mac's sealing and blessing will be end of August or beginning of September.

(So now my family has a little more time to save up money to come for it, YAY!)

Our Oregon Trip

Trip in Review...
Day 1: Prepare for the flight to Portland. Mac was great on the plane. Get to Portland at about 6:30pm. Rent our car and get REALLY bad service from the very company the Hubs works for, very frustrating! Head to John and Amy's (Really good friends from our Ward in Tigard) house so Hubs can pick up something from John and I can surprise Amy. Amy wasn't home, so no surprise yet. Head to Shannon and Jared's (Hubs's sister and her family), the girls were waiting up for us. Mac was very cranky because he was super tired. And we went to bed.
Day2: Hubs got up and went to his work meetings. And I stayed and hung out with my nieces and nephew. Hallie got to stay home from school for a few hours so we could spend some time together. We played games and took some super cute pictures of Sam (which I will post soon). In the afternoon when Hubs got back we headed down to my parents house to surprise them. When we got there, Hubs went in first while I stayed in the car for a few minutes. And check out the video for the surprise. It was fun to finally be there. We got to see Mylisa and we all went out to dinner at this yummy Tai Restaurant in Sweet Home where my parents live. Mylisa wouldn't go to sleep that night because she was all excited.
Day3: Got up early to head down to Veneta to Surprise Hubs's parents. His parents were at the Stake Center for Stake YW basketball. And they were excited that we were there. Hubs had another meeting in Eugene so I stayed and then went home with my Mother in law. We then spent the day at there house and Hubs's brother Spen ended up coming and his sister Steph and her family came down from Corvallis. The kids were so excited to meet Mac. We then headed back to my parents house late that night.
Day4: We got up and got ready to go to 2pm church in Tigard (our old Ward). And when we got to church I snuck up on my friend Amy and sat down next to her where she turned around to me and said really loud in the chapel "oh my heck!" Then her and our other good friend Pam started crying . It was a great surprise. We just stayed for Sacrament meeting so that we could go and visit our other really good friends (and Hubs's mission companion) the Weinbergers. We got to visit with them for a little while then headed back to the John and Amy's house for our old tradition of Sunday dinner. The kids were excited to see Mac. We hung out at there house until it was time to get back to my aunt and uncles house where we were staying.
Day5: My mom and I got up and went to WalMart to get some groceries and then we all just hung out, until it was time for Hubs's flight to leave to go back to Montana. He left and Mac and I stayed behind for another week.
Day6: I got to go spend another day with my best friend Amy. We got to go do a little shopping at a REAL mall. I was able to get to The Children's Place where I was able to buy some white slacks and a white dress shirt for Mac's sealing/blessing outfit. (My aunt Elaine is going to knit a white sweater vest for him to wear). My aunt Glenda came down to see us, well the baby, all the way from St. Helens.
Day7: We headed back down to Sweet Home in the morning so I could get down in time to get settled in at my parents house and take a nap before I headed to Corvallis to go visit Hubs's sister and her family and see their house that they have been slowly working on for a couple of years. I hung out and ate dinner with them. Then it was back to my parents house.
Day8: I was beat from all the traveling so we just stayed at my parents house all day. We made one trip to WalMart and out to eat for lunch and the rest of the day was just spent doing nothing.
Day9: We headed down to Springfield/Eugene. And were going to go and visit my parents neighbors from Thurston Road, but that didn't work out and so on the way down there we stopped and saw another family friend the Z's. We then headed down to Eugene where we met my Aunt Judie (Dad's sister) and had lunch with her. After that we headed to the mall for a little while and stopped by Hallmark (where I used to work) and see my old bosses and then out to my in-laws house to see them one more time. And then back to Sweet Home.
Day 10: We got up and I packed all of our stuff and we headed back up to Portland so that I could go visit Hubs's other sister Shan and her kids one more time. I was able to do that and then go to dinner with my Mom and my best friend Amy to the Olive Garden.
Day11: Got up and got ready to head to the airport for my flight to leave at 10am. I had a 3 hour layover in SLC, Ut and had my SIL Anna and my nieces come to the airport so they could see Mac. It was so fun to see them. And my 18 year old niece just ate Mac up! We then got home with out any major problems and Mac was perfect. It was so great to be home, because I was beat. And it was so good to see my handsome husband. Hubs had dinner all made and we went to bed early out of exhaustion.
So that was it in a nutshell.
There were so many more people I wanted to see and some things I really wanted to do. But that will have to wait for when we are there this summer for Mac's sealing and blessing.
It was a great trip but very exhausting trying to get around with an infant to see everyone!

Mac's FIRST airplane ride!!

Both Hubs and I were expecting the worse! But Mac was PERFECT on the plane! He only ever cried when we would first get on the plane because we were always holding out on him so he could have a bottle for take-off! The plane trip was definitely easier with Hubs with me, but the flight home by myself was pretty great too. Everyone was more than helpful!

Aren't my boys cute!

SURPRISE!!

Well, here is the story!
I have been bugging Hubs to let me go to Oregon and visit with Mac. So then Hubs ended up having to go to Oregon for some work meetings and we decided to splurge so Mac and I would go with him. But we decided to just tell everyone that Hubs was coming and we would surprise everyone with us being there. I did everything I could so that my mom would be surprised. I even posted a lie about Hubs being gone and Mac and I were home alone. We made plans with my parents for Hubs to stop by because they had Mylisa and Hubs hadn't seen her since we moved to Montana. Hubs went in first and I waited a few minutes before I knocked on the door.
This video tells the rest of the story!!

Going on a walk, finally!

Hubs is out of town for the weekend, and we needed to get out of the house! The high temps have been in the 40s and it has been sunny! Mac did really good, but poor guy either had the sun in his face or the cold wind!

I loved is blue hat and winter suit on him with his big blue eyes!

Every time I look at this picture I can imagine him saying...
"OK I'll be a good boy Mommy!"

Sorry I have been posting so much, I think I am almost caught up on posting. I have been trying to spread out my posts so that there is something new everyday.

Mommy and her Little Man!

"C" stopped by to see us today! And she wanted some pictures of the two of us, so she picked up my camera and started shooting, it was fun! Mac was really tired and fighting a nap and so he was not very photogenic! (Also, not loving my hair, I really need to get it redone!)

Mac Week by Week...

The dreaded carseat...

Mac HATES being in his carseat as you can see! It makes it very hard to go anyplace, because he is ususally crying in it, except when he is fine with the way it is moving! I love these pictures because he looks so cute throwing a fit!

Mac is just too cute...

Mac is really starting to coo/talk when he is smiling and we are loving it! This is long so it may bore most of you, but it is mostly for the fam anyway!
ENJOY!

These are Mac's 2 month pictures.

MY Life...

life isn't a destination - it's a journey. we all come upon unexpected curves & turning points, mountaintops & valleys. everything that happens to us shapes who we are becoming. and in the adventure of each day, we discover the best in ourselves.

-anonymous.

I loved this quote when I found it! I instantly related because of our adventure in becoming parents.

I have been asked by a friend if I wished I could go back and change the fact that we couldn't have kids. And I knew my answer right away.

NO!

I love the people Hubs and I have become, as INDIVIDUALS and as ETERNAL COMPANIONS. I think we are and will be better PARENTS. We also have the opportunity to feel true COMPASSION and EMPATHY towards those who have gone through similar trials. We can TEACH, HELP and be shoulders to cry on. I feel so much closer to the SAVIOR and I have felt his LOVE every step of the way. We have been blessed with the most amazing MIRACLE of ADOPTION. We have been blessed with Mac!

So NO, I wouldn't change a thing!

As I always say, "Blessings come through trials!"
And I truly have a testimony of that!

I'm baaaaack!

Well I think my sanity got all nice and thawed out yesterday in the 47 degree weather! Loved it! Kindof a short vacation but it helped! I still ended up looking at most of your blogs a few times still. I just didnt worry about leaving comments or posting myself.
So here is what we have been up to, or mostly me I guess...

---I chopped my hair! I am loving it short again, but it isnt exactly how I would like it. So hopefully soon I can get to Great Falls and have "C" fix it for me and maybe even color it so that I am not so gray. When I went to got it cut (at some local salon here in Helena) the girl cutting my hair kept on commenting on my gray hair, I couldn't believe it. She asked me "if the texture of my hair has changed because of all my gray hair." Then I had shown her pictures of me with my last hair cut and she commented on how much darker my hair was in the picture (which is just what happens with my hair in pictures) and then she said "oh it must be the gray hair that is making it look lighter now." OK..OK..I have alot of gray hair for not being quite 30 years old! But give me a break lady!

---Two super nice ladies (Bishop's wife and good friend) from our Ward threw me a baby shower this week. It was alot of fun and Mac loved all of the attention. He just got passed from one lady to another without a single peep from him. By the time the shower was over and he got passed back to me it had been nearly 5 hours since he had eatin last and as soon as I picked him up I think he realized that he was hungry and only got reminded of that because he knew I was the one who feeds him, and he started crying! I got alot of great clothes that range from 6-18 months. A couple packages of Huggies and a super cute Sit-to-stand Learning Walker. Everyone was so generous!

---I finally got some Thank You cards mailed. I ran out of cards so I didnt get them all mailed out. I ordered some cute picture thank you's from WalMart for the shower and I ordered extra to help finish up the rest of my other thank yous from all the packages we have gotten in the mail. The only think I was totally bummed about that I didnt realize was that I think I used the same picture that I used for his birth announcments so some of you will see the same picture twice in the mail.

---Speaking of Birth Announcements...I finally got my idea and it only took about 15 minutes to come up with. Now the hard part is getting them all put together. They are about half way done I am just waiting for my pictures to come into WalMart and I have to cut a few more things and then tie alot of ribbons. I even have addressed all the envelopes. I am hoping to get them mailed out by this coming weekend. After I mail them out I will post a picture of them.

---After Mac not taking any good naps all weekend, he is at the moment working on a 2 hour nap already. YAHOO!!

---We had our YW New Beginnings last night and it turned out so good, but I am glad that it is over with!

---I was trying to come up with something for Hubs, but poor guy is just doing the same thing he is always doing. Get up go teach Seminary, go to work, come home and help me, eat , study his lesson and back to bed. I think he really does need a vacation!

---I am tired of the spell check not working on here, but glad to know that it is blogger and not just me!

What Mac has been up to...

Taking baths to make sure he is smelling nice and clean!

Working on his tummy time! Although he doesnt like it much and usually all he does is turn his head from side to side instead of trying to lift it.

Relaxin!

And playing!

8 WEEKS (last friday)

These are the only pictures I got of Mac at 8 weeks. He is smiling so much more now and even coos a little. He won't really smile for anyone but me and sometimes for Daddy. I guess that is because I am the one who is entertaining him all day. Hubs weighed him yesterday and the scale shows him at 12.6 pounds, I was shocked because I was thinking he was only about 10 1/2 pounds. We will know for sure when he has his 2 month check-up on Friday. He is also finally getting his baby acne and his poor face is no longer baby soft, it makes me sad. I am sure hoping that it goes away soon.
Make sure you click on the close ups of his face to make the picture larger, so you can see his eyes. They look like a Lunar Eclipse. I love them. People are always commenting on his red hair and eyes.
