Mother's Day, school, evening walks, boys camp & girls night...

We didn't do much for Mother's day since Hubs did most of the traditional stuff the day before. But we did call grandma's to wish them a happy day.

We also made about 90 snickerdoodles and took them to various families in our ward.

We watched a video on Queen Esther in the morning and then Oak decided she wasn't Queen Elsa anymore but she wanted to be Queen Esther. It was adorable!

I promise this isn't as bad as it looks. It was just some Sunday night shenanigans. Mac was having daddy tie him up so he could try to get out. It was just a kids scarf and Mac was actually quite good at getting out of it. He would be our with in 10 seconds or so. The kids were laughing so hard.

Monday morning we worked on making sugar crystals. Mac has been begging for a couple of weeks to do this. We have deemed Monday to be "science day". We also go in a bit of color mixing to see what colors we could make.

Here is the final product.

We are almost all finished with this book and I have reserved the next book in the series. This has been our lunch time read and the kids love it. It basically teaches math through a story that it is telling.

I always think it is so adorable when he sits down to look at a book.

I saw this marble track on pinterest and thought we would try it out. It didn't work very well and it didn't hold their attention very long because the neighbor kids ended up coming outside and it distracted them. We will try again this week and do it inside.

Lately they have been having a super hard time getting along and I caught a moment where they actually WERE!

I thought I was going crazy when I realize I couldn't find this pile of clothes that Oak was supposed to put away in her drawer. I couldn't figure out where they had gone and Oak swore she put them away. Then a few days later I found them behind her bedroom door. silly girl!

Oak did this puzzle all by herself. Oak totally looks like a ragamuffin. And I have to say that she does most of the time. If I do her hair she takes it out and re does it, if I get her in cute clothes for the day she at some point changes into either comfy clothes or a dress. I just have kindof given up the fight. Good thing she is even cute when she looks like a ragamuffin.

This week we finally were able to take some evening walks on the bike path behind our house.

This is how Hubs and I have been spending our evening after the kids are in bed. Watching Doc Martin and snuggling on the couch.

We have deemed wednesday "art day" and so we painted outside. We invited the cute little neighbor girls to come and paint with us.

Also on wednesday mac went back to the dentist to get a sealant on his permanent molar. He did such a great job.

We went to the park one night before daddy got home.

We had a Nacho picnic. I totally remember doing this as a kid.

ANother evening walk. She is adorable!

Mac improved so much this week in swim lessons. He swam almost the entire width of the pool by himself. It was awesome. I also got both kids signed up for the next session.

Mac was excited all week about getting to go to the Father Son campout. This was his list of things to do there. "-Roast marshmallows - look for spiders - go to bed! - do you want to play tag? - eat lunch - eat dinner - eat breakfast" Adorable!

Mac and Oak got Mac all packed for the campout and I went through it just to double check and found he had packed 7 pairs of socks. haha, love it!

For Friday fun day we went to Petco and looked at the fish and animals. The kids were so excited!

While boys were at "boys camp" (as mac calls it) Oak and I went out to eat dinner at Applebee's.

Then my friend Camille had planned a fun night with fruit pizza, movie and popcorn. We just stayed late but another family stayed the night.

The next morning we went back to Camille's to eat breakfast then headed out to get some flowers to plant at an elderly couple's house who is in our ward as a service project.

Got these pics from Hubs. They tried to find a place to fish on the way home but failed. Hubs said Mac was the most well behaved boy there and that they had a really great time. I was so glad to hear that.

Aren't they cute?!

When Hubs got home and unpacked he went straight to the couch and slept for like three hours. He must have been tired, poor guy! Love him!
