Week 16...Post tax season vacation part 1

I have been reading picture books of famous/influential people in history during breakfast. These were some of our favorites.

He came home on the last day of tax season and crashed on the couch.

The kids gave him a foot massage as a gift for his hard work.

Finally on our much anticipated annual family vacation to the coast. This was the best year with the kids. This year we got a little cottage right on the beach and stayed for the whole week. Half with the kids and half just the two of us to celebrate our anniversary.

This is what the door handles looked like on all the indoor doors. Mac was obsessed with them. He thought they were so cool.

This day the weather was perfect for kite flying. You could just stand there and the kite would stay in the air.

We went to the aquarium and it was so great because it was a school day and there was hardly anyone there.

The kids' favorite part was the touch pool. We literally spent over an hour there.

The owner of our cottage let us know that it was minus tides and the beach down the road had great tide pools. I think this was our favorite activity we did. It was amazing.

On the way there Oak said she hoped there would be seals there. And sure enough there were a ton. She was so excited.

Mac's seashell and rock finds.

This was his coolest find.

One of the days Mac was totally wiped out and zonked on the couch.

So I took Oak out to play in the waves while dad stayed back with sleeping Mac.

Oak swimming in the freezing water, me all bundled up.

Dad woke Mac up and came out to play.

Our last activity was going to the light house and playing at the beach next to it.

We did a cool little tour of the inside.

Then spent a few hours playing in the water on the beach. This water was ice cold but they didn't care.

Goofing off at bed time.

Last walk to the beach before we took them to grandma and grandpa's house. We talked about how grateful we were for such a fun trip to spend as a family and to get to see so many of Heavenly Father's beautiful creations.
