week 8

It was Hubs' little sister's birthday. We happened to be in town and were able to visit her spot to wish her a happy birthday. I loved that there was a rainbow while we visited her.

There was a bunch of stuff on the table that I didn't feel like moving so we had a picnic breakfast and devotional.

Oak had been begging me for months to take her ice skating. I finally did and Mac who did not want to go had a blast. Oak who had been before was a little hesitant but finally warmed up to it.

Oak finally felt confident enough to learn to make scrambled eggs on her own. She rocked it and she declared her own eggs to be the best eggs ever.

We had the opportunity to go to an assisted living home to read to the residents and do a craft with them.

Every year Hubs takes Mac to an auction that his firm supports. And Oak and I had the opportunity to have a girls night. I seriously always love the opportunity to hang out with just one of my kids at a time. They are so much more fun.

We went to Coastal Farm store and she loved every single second. The had a huge area for just horse riding gear and she was enamored.

And a life size horse that she fell in love with.

And we tried on every single cowbow hat.

And Mac won a lot of loot at the auction.

Their is a cow field across the street from our house and we have enjoyed the little babies this year. That road you see is our road and below that is our yard. They were so close this day as we watched then out our family room window. The calfs just run and bounce around and are so stinking cute.

week 7

This week ended up being an interesting week as Mac ended up with strep throat and Hubs ended up with a terrible case of food poisoning. I had to take Hubs to the doctor on Valentines day and then to the hospital for a CT scan. He did not get out of bed for three days straight because he was in so much pain.
Even with two people our house were sick I still managed to get some heart shaped pancakes made for breakfast.

And some how I managed to get in our candle light dinner with the kids. Bryce didn't get out of bed.

And I did make some yummy treats so it wasn't a total loss of a day.

Oak made this cute card for her daddy.

Once the antibiotics started kicking in all Hubs wanted to eat was chicken noodle soup. So I attempted to make some from scratch for the very first time. It actually turned out really good and he devoured it after not eating anything for a few days.

A cool rainbow we saw out our family room window.

Once Hubs was feeling better Oak kept on bugging him about why he didn't do anything for her and Mac for Valentines Day. By the end of the week he was feeling bad about it and made these cute little valentines for each of us.

Grandma C ended up being able to do her annual grandkid valentine party. The kids looking handsome for church the next day.

And the cute girls.

Week 6

I needed to go and shovel the snow and Mac offered on his own to do it. This is so unlike him to offer to do any work that I took him up on his offer.

Just a rare sweet moment of big brother helping little sister.

Oak was obsessed with making fresh squeezed orange juice and so we found her an actual hand juicer. She loved it.

A tea party with her freshly squeezed orange juice.

The kids told me that homeschooling had been boring lately so they each chose an activity for the day. Mac chose to watch a how to draw dinosaurs video he got at the library and he made this banner for his room.

Oak wanted to do this native American craft since we were reading a book about Ojibwa Indians.

My cute boys watching Oak's basketball game.

Oak went to her friends birthday party and got her face painted.

Of course we are obsessed with the Moana soundtrack.

Week 5

It had been awhile since Oak had been out to play with Gloria. I told her she could go out after quiet time and so she made Gloria a hat out of felt. I think Gloria likes it.

We all just happened to be sitting down reading our own books at the same time. It was such a sweet blessing moment that I needed after a rough week.

Oak decided that she would make some hats for the babies in the NICU at OHSU.

I have been trying to do some purging/organizing every day. This was my first day: The junk drawer.

The kids worked together making this cute little dog.

The after of the junk drawer. And the great part was finding about $10 in change.

Our troop was doing a space derby for the first time. Mac had fun making his rocket. The derby needs to be a bit more organized next year, but it was fun. Mac got 2nd in Bears and 2nd overall.

We found this packed in a box and I got it out for Oak to sleep with. Her birthmom has a matching one that was given to them at the hospital.

We have been eating so much junk the last two months and I have noticed that all of our brains were just having a hard time so we are trying to make more healthy snacks for us. I can already tell a difference.

Mac chopping nuts for the granola bars.

These apple "cookies" were so yummy.

The kids loved the granola bars.

granola. This goes fast in my house. It lasts maybe 3 days because my kids eat it as cereal for breakfast and on their million bowls of yogurt during the day.

It's been awhile since we have gotten an odd egg. This one was way smaller than the rest of the normal size eggs.

Apparently eating lunch in a laundry basket is fun.

Grandma and Grandpa made the four hour trek in the snow to come for one of Oak's basketball games. We love how supportive and loving they are.

Another cleaning/purging mission. This time the spice cabinet.

So I just got this family history book. And I am so excited. It's about my mom's mom's dad's side of the family who settled in south Africa from a small island at the bottom of england and then eventually came to Salt Lake City.

Oak decided to go lay day with daddy for a Sunday nap and they were both zonked.
