Week 20

Learning to clean a lot more thoroughly than she had been. The dried blue toothpaste needed taken care of.

I asked this boy to do a bit of chores but he kept finding a book somewhere around that he hadn't read yet so he kept getting distracted. Secretly I love it.

Same here. He was supposed to be folding towels. Found another book.

He really wants to open a bakery someday but he tells people he has a bakery now because occasionally he makes banana bread and sells it to friends. In these pictures he wanted to come up with his own banana bread recipe so he got all of our cookbooks out and found banana bread recipes and used them as a guide to create his own recipe. He then tried it out and it was delicious.

We got some books for kids on healthy eating from the library. She found a page on rainbow foods and wanted to make us lunch. YUM!

We decided to eat it outside and read our current read aloud.

Daddy caught some mice to hopefully intise our cat to start catching some. So she decided she needed to do  a little research on mice. This is part of the amazing thing about homeschooling...she wanted to do this on her own and she loved it.

The kids decided they needed to make a fancy breakfast for grandma and I. It was delicious.

Rarely does it rain here and even more rarely to we have puddles to splash in because it is so dry here. But occasionally we get a downpour that allows for such fun. This day was on our way out of the dentist. She had a blast. Funny thing was when we got home there wasn't a drop of rain at our house.

One morning Oak found this giant moth on our deck. It was pretty beat up. We think our cat got to it. Oak was fascinated by it.

That cat totally looks guilty. Oak decided she wanted to try to journal it.

We decided we needed to go hiking more this summer. It's my favorite thing to do. We made a bucket list of sorts of hikes we wanted to do. This was our first and it was pretty close to home. We plan to go back.

She would much rather sleep on the floor then in her bed. She actually sleeps most nights on the floor of my room. But this night she wanted to sleep in a fort in her room. Which actually happens quite often too.

Dressed up for the royal wedding.

Helping daddy plant some new plants to replace the ones that didn't make it through the winter.

We invested in some tennis rackets and balls and headed to the court. The kids loved it.
