A new year! Week 1

This girl loves to be outside with her cat. She doesn't care how cold it is.

Our house was a complete disaster after a whole month of sickness and Christmas. We spent the entire morning of new years day cleaning and putting things away until the house shined. It felt so good to get it in order. It was cold out but beautiful so we thought we would get out of the house for just a bit after working so hard all morning. We had fun throwing rocks on the frozen lake and listening to the cool sound.

Reading...

and reading.

Mac bought a really cool kids cook book with Christmas money. He made a treat for poetry tea time.

Oak made the cutest dragon costume for her bear. I thought she was super clever with the spikes on the back.

Fort building. Always fort building on Thursdays.

Drawing a map of the unites states for school.

We started our scripture study of the old testament for homeschool. I decided it would be good for them to have a scripture journal to write in after our study.

Sometimes I get a glimpse of the sweetness of this kid who struggles to see past his own nose sometimes. Just before bed he said to me very seriously, "Mom, how does it feel to wake up in the morning and know you have so much to do and so much to take care of being a mom? Oaklee and I wake up and think about what we get to play but you wake up knowing you have a lot to do. How does that feel." Grateful for these little glimpses.

They play cowboys and Indians for two weeks straight! It was the cutest!

Ready for church and getting along.
