The rest of the week after leaving the lake...

We left the lake a little earlier than originally planned, but it all worked out great. We were able to head to Eugene where we were able to visit my aunt. We ended up staying the night with her and then the next day we headed north to pick my mom up and take her back home with us.

When we are in Eugene we usually stop by the mall to eat a cinnabon.

Before we headed up to get my mom we stopped and got donuts for friday donut day.

When we got to my aunt and uncles house to pick my mom up the kids got to feed their pig, their chickens, collect eggs and pick blackberries. We made a pie today with the blackberries.

When we finally got home Hubs buzzed Mac's hair for the summer. Mac was not happy about it.

Both Mac and Oak have officially figured out how to blow bubbles with gum.

We were home Saturday with daddy and we just worked around the house. Hubby was so good and did a lot of projects for my mom and I. Mac helped him cut these boards for grandma's bed.

Daddy ended up borrowing our neighbors lawn mower since my moms mower is in storage still. Mac wanted to help.

This little model ship my dad bought to build with Mac not long before he passed away. He had left it in their travel trailer. Mac found it and brought it home and built it with daddy. Bitter-sweet for sure.

I asked Mac to fold his clothes. He went straight to the couch and laid down like this and was asleep within 30 seconds and snoring.

She loves to play in the dirt.

First time sleeping in the bed grandma gave her. And with the new vintage chenille blanket we got at an antique store for $30. I love it!

Silly kids before church.

All caught up!!!

Sunday Gratitude...twenty-eight...

I am grateful...

...for the amazing Ward we just moved from. They were one of the best we have ever been in.

...for our new Ward. It will be an adjustment for my mom and I. But the kids came out of Primary with big smiles on their faces.

...for my little family. I am beyond blessed to have these two kiddos and their dad.

...for the Lakehouse and all the memories that are made there. My kids will have so many amazing memories to look back on and I love thinking about that.

...for the cooler weather this week. Our new house is pretty miserable when it is hot.

...to pick blackberries and make blackberry pie today.

...to visit my Aunt (my dad's sister) this last week. She is my dad's only living relative. Her health is not well because she has Parkinson's and it was difficult to see her that way. I was glad that we took the time to visit her and help her with a few things she couldn't do herself.

...for my husband. He has been so helpful and he works so hard for our family.

Independence Day

4th of July is my favorite holiday. I love the traditions that we have created with my husbands family.

I painted Oak's fingernails and toenails red, white and blue.

Some cute superheroes.

My cute little family.

Traditional grandkid picture.

The grandsons.

The granddaughters.

Me and my girl.

Patriotic girly.

I made the sign thanks to ideas from the internet.

I actually watched fireworks for the first time in eight years. We had fun sitting in the back of the truck waiting for them to start.

Lakehouse!!

First day at the lakehouse. We were excited and the weather was perfect!

The lake was at a record low and so swimming wasn't as much fun because the kids could feel all the yuck at the bottom of the lake. So there was lots of paddle boat riding, paddle boarding, and canoeing.

Mac was having a super hard time with his behavior and it usually ended in a nap.

Oak was the only one who would go fishing. And she caught one.

This was the fun new floater.

Mac got to do the paddle board this year.

I even tried it although I was too chicken to do it standing up.

Another tantrum turned nap.

Uncle Z always brings something fun for the kids and this year he brought is air soft gun and let the kids do target practice. Mac loved it.

One day Mac's breathing got really labored. I was going to wait it out, but my SIL who is a nurse said that she thought we should take him in. Unfortuntely there was no Urgent care near us and we had to take him to the ER. We walked out of the ER four hours after we checked in. Doctor said he just had an upper respiratory infection and just treat the symptoms with benedryl. Not looking forward to that bill but glad it wasn't as serious as when he had similar symptoms in December.

Oak loving on Benji.

My MIL finally retired as a school teacher. We celebrated while we were at the lakehouse.

Cousins taught Oak how to make friendship bracelets. She loved it!

Her hair was always so curly because of being in the water and the humidity there.

Boys playing.

The water was so low they had fun treasure hunting in the mud.

And playing with the mud. The mud was crazy. I stepped in the wrong spot and I sunk down to my knees with one step.

The weather was seriously perfect the whole time we were there. We enjoyed the perfect temps while the rest of Oregon was having a heat wave.

One last otter pop before we left.

Sunday...twenty-seven...
