Oak at 18 months

Her 18 month check up was yesterday:

Weighed: 29 lbs (95th percentile)
Height: 34.5 inches (100th percentile)
Head: 49.2 cm (100th percentile)

She's getting big!

Doctor K was also VERY impressed with how well she could talk.
And she got two vaccines.

She is getting pretty good at using a spoon and fork, but if left unsupervised she will dump her food on the table, floor or stuff it in her highchair. She can make a huge mess. She however ate three small bowls of applesauce last night with very minimal mess, yay!!

I would say her favorite thing to eat is still crackers of any kind. She is a pretty good eater and not too picky. She eats what ever we eat.

Her last tooth (before her two year molars) finally popped through.

She literally can say everything. She will just start saying new words on her own without us ever teaching her. Even though she doesn't babble anymore we can only understand about 95% of what she is saying.

I laugh every time she says "fop" which is how she says "stop" . She also says "Yep!" instead of yes and when you ask her a "why" questions she will answer "cuz!" I seriously don't know where those came from, haha.

She is putting two and three words together that make sense. And is constantly asking someone to "Hold me please!" or telling someone "Sit there please!"

She has been wearing footy jammies for the winter and after many months of finding her unzipped she figured out how to get them off. Thankfully she hasn't made a habit out of it.

She is our climber and it is impossible to keep her off the chairs at the table and she has climbed up onto the table a few times. We can never take our eyes off of her.

She is very attached to her thumb, bear and a specific blankie. She will however take a replacement blankie for a short time if we can't find hers or need to wash it.

She recognizes Jesus in all pictures and Temples. Although she is calling all big buildings Temples lately.

Her favorite songs are "I am A Child of God" and "I Love to See The Temple" and can sing along with it. She doesn't say the exact words really, it is mostly the sounds of the words.

When giving kisses she does the cutest fishy lips.

She has finally started calling dogs "doggy" instead of "bobo".

She loves to read and is especially attached to the books that you sing in or have repetition, or have dogs, babies, cats or pumpkins.

When we go places and someone pays attention to her she makes sure they know who she is with and points and names us all, "Mama, Coy, Bear!"

When looking in the mirror at herself she says "Oakee".

She can do age appropriate puzzles.

She loves Elmo and Abby Cadabie.

She only drinks a sippy of milk in the morning and we changed her milk to lactose free and that has stopped her diarrhea.

She loves to rough house and can pretty much hold her own when it comes to big brother.

She can count to ten. But she has only done it when we say the odd numbers and she will say the even numbers and or the other way around. She won't say them straight through.

She has already been going to nursery for about a month and a half and is doing really well. She loves it and has never cried! Yahoo!!

She has come and told me a few times that she has pooped in her diaper. I am hoping this means she will be easier to potty train. Although I will not start anything until she is at least two, I am just not ready to deal with it yet.

She is hilarious and can act so goofy sometimes. She likes to have fun and hang with the big kids.

She is baby obsessed and can not handle it when there is a baby around.

She rarely falls alseep in the car and although she has tried to go down to one nap a day she is still taking two naps most days. I fought that battle and I think I have won.

When getting ready for bed, she fights it all the way and uses the "I need to say night night to everyone" delay tactic. But once you lay her down, the fight is over and she rolls over, sucks her thumb with bear in hand and closes her eyes.

She loves balls and can throw and kick them really well. She even gets excited when she sees a basketball game on the tv. It's in her blood! :)

And some bonus cell phone pics:

nice and clean.

a mess!

the mess she made after lunch one day. her face cracks me up!

brushing her teeth.

One pigtail, snotty nose and eating crackers off the floor.

Oak at 17 months...

*Boy is this girl spicey!! Yowzers!!
*She pretty much makes us laugh constantly with her silly and naughty antics.
*She "snaps" her fingers when she is dancing.
*says two and sometimes three word sentences.
*she is saying too many words to document all of them.
*she communicates really well and doesn't do much babbling anymore.
*will NOT leave her piggies in or any other hair pretty for that matter.
*she has a love/hate or a scared to death but extremely intrigued relationship with the garbage truck. She wants/needs to go outside to see it, yet she has a look of total terror on her face and you can tell she is trying to hold it together and be brave so that she can wave hi to the garbage man. It is reallly cute!!
*She says "I sit THERE!!" about a million times a day. She usually will slap her hand down where ever it is she wants to sit, or wants you to sit or wants you to set down what ever it is she wants. It makes me laugh everytime.
*She also has been quite clingy lately and she is constantly coming up to me and saying, "Hold me."  in the cutest little sweet voice, I pretty much can't refuse.
*Still calls all dogs "Bobo". Which is the name of our neighbors dog and really the first dog she ever was exposed to.
*She LOVES her big brother "Coy" and is constantly asking for him, calling for him or if he is on the floor, tackling him. She wants to play in his room and be doing what ever it is he is doing. But as soon as he wants to love on her and smother her with playfulness she is yelling "STOP!" at him over and over.
*She has become a bit more of a picky eater since she was sick last week.
*She can eat with a fork pretty well and we are still working on using a spoon without dumping everything before it gets to her mouth.
*She is a climber and very busy, which means she gets hurt alot.
*She loves taking baths.
*She is still quite attached to her bear and she has a favorite blankie now.
*She goes down for naps and bed time so well.
*Most days I can get two naps out of her depending on the timing.
*She is ready for bed everynight at 8pm sharp. It doesn't matter if she woke up from a nap an hour earlier or not.

Oak {11 months old}

...weighing her this morning she weighed 24.8 lbs. but that was also right after I fed her and filled her little tummy.
...she will fold her arms for prayer, when you ask her to, or when she sees anyone else with their arms folded.
...says "Uh-Oh!" constantly. She loves to throw or drop anything off her highchair and exclaim Uh-Oh.
...when she can't see me she will yell "Maaa!" over and over until I answer her.
...she LOVES to rough house with Mac. She giggles and giggles.
...when she is getting into something she shouldn't and you tell her No-No. She will stop and look at you, tilt her head and give you the biggest, cheesiest grin. She knows she is cute and tries to use it to her advantage.
...she can be really goofy sometimes. she runs along the couch back and forth giggling, she whips her head from side to side (like ear to shoulder) until she loses her balance and falls and then just giggles.
...she can stand for about 5 seconds or so when she wants to.
...she will walk while using just one hand to hold ours. she is still a bit wobbly but getting so much better all the time.
...she loves cell phones. when she is playing with one and you say "Hello?" She will put the phone to her ear. so cute!
...she loves to play peek-a-boo! anytime she finds a blanket she will put it over her head to play.
...she got her 5th tooth recently.
...we finally got her a convertible car seat (although it isn't installed yet). She is just getting too scrunched in her carrier (which we never take out of the car anymore anyway) although she hasn't reached the max weight of 30 lbs for it yet.
...she is a great sleeper and eater.
...she is definitely getting her own opinion on things and will make sure we know when she doesn't want to do something.
...she loves baths and recently discovered that she can move around and get all crazy. It's cute, but makes it really hard to get her washed up or make sure she doesn't get hurt.
...she is a mommy's girl, but when daddy is around she always wants him.
...her hair is getting longer, yay! not quite sure what color it will end up being yet.
...she is really hard at church because she is so wiggly.
...she knows she is cute and can't stand when she doesn't get the attention she deserves.
...she loves drinking water out of a sippy and a cup when I give her the chance.
...she no longer drinks a bottle. she drinks her milk from a sippy great!
...she still eats some baby food because she was low in iron at her 9 month appt. So I buy the baby food that is high in iron or I mix any other baby food with oatmeal to make sure she is getting more than enough iron everyday to get her levels up.
...she will still let me spoon feed her.
...she signs: doggy, eat, milk, more, all done, she is starting to figure out please,
...she waves bye bye and hi. And will say "Hi!"
...She babbles alot and it is so cute.
...she loves to dance when she hears music or singing.
...her favorite foods are still mandarins and cheese. and the Graduates Lil' Crunchies.
...she still continues to be a happy, "go with the flow", content baby.

Oak's 9 Months Stats...

Are you all on Oak overload?
Sorry, but she is cute and adorable and beautiful and fun and happy and we love her and I love to show her off a bit.
Plus I needed to get down her 9 month stats!

Weight: 23 lbs (95%)
Height: 26 in (95%)
I don't remember her head circum but it was also 95%

Her awesome doctor, Dr. K, was asking all the milestone questions  (Oak hadn't done much babbling since we had gotten there) and I was standing towards the Doctor holding Oak facing towards the Doctor too and Dr. K asks if she talks and babbles and Oak instantly points at her and starts talking away. We were all laughing so hard! It was so cute!

Oak {9 months old}

She has just started doing so much this week:
*She has learned how to shake her head (along with her body) no.
*She can pull herself up to standing on lower surfaces, although she still isn't very sturdy while doing so.
*She is crawling on her hands and knees more and more
*She is getting her 3rd tooth (her top, front, right: It looks like it hurts but she has been pretty happy and you wouldn't be able to tell she is teething) and she is now grinding her teeth together.
*She is SO busy and getting into everything. I have to constantly sweep the dining room floor all day long because she is a little vacuum and will pick anything up off the floor and eat it.
*She loves to eat, and even when she doesn't really like something she will eat it.
*She waves hi and bye
*signs "more" (clapping)
*sometimes will sign "all done"
*She sleeps from 7pm to 6 or 6:30am
*She is now taking two consistent naps at 9am and 1pm
*She is eating 3 solid meals: a 6oz bottle (before or after she eats) a jar of baby food or oatmeal and cut up food.
*She will eat diced carrots, peas, pieces of bread, mashed potatoes, rice and her little snacks.

Oak {8.5 months}

Oak has started doing so many things in the last two weeks that I wanted to make sure I get them down before I forget...

*She gives kisses now! She would just kiss me, but now she is moving on to other people too. When I was reading her a book of nursery rhymes, we got to the page with Humpty Dumpty and she kissed him. SO CUTE!

*She is army crawling and getting quite fast. When she sees something she wants she is there in no time! She rarely rolls anymore and is always setting herself up when she wants to sit and play.

*She would much rather play with things that are NOT real toys. Her favorites are the remotes and necklaces.

*She loves to look at books or anything with pictures. And will study the pictures for a long time.

*She has become quite clingy and is a total Mama's girl. Which I don't hate! She would prefer me to hold her especially when she is grumpy or tired.

*And the one that I don't like...she likes to scream for fun. It is ear piercing and pretty close to window shattering!!!

Oak {8 Months}

She is getting harder to photograph because she is so wiggly. I am assuming once she starts crawling it will be nearly impossible.

She will sometimes wave hi or bye.
She is now saying "mamamama"
She is getting up on her hands and knees and rocks back and forth.
She is starting to try to crawl, but not there yet.
She is still a really fast roller.
She has started to pick things up and stick them in her mouth.
Today she sat herself up from being on her hands and knees.
She says "ata...ata..ata"
She got her second tooth (on the bottom). Gotta love her smile with her two little teeth on the bottom.
She still loves to suck her thumb and does it alot more than when she is hungry or tired.
She has started to get a little clingy.
And when someone talks to her she will put her head on our chest like she is shy.
She is still such a happy baby all the time.
Always has a smile.
She is wearing 12 to 18 month clothes.
She still is a great sleeper.
Her hair seems to be lighter, maybe strawberry blond.
She is starting to take her headbands off, so sad!

.she has learned how to get down on her own when she is tired of sitting up.
.she is a full time sitter and will catch herself when she loses her balance.
.she has tried all the veggie baby foods and prunes and she only didn't like the peas. She kept gagging and when she had enough she just stopped opening her mouth for me.

.she is officially in 12 month size clothing and won't fit into anything smaller.
.she says "dadadad" and "babababa".
.she now can hold her own bottle.
.she loves to play peekaboo and kindof gets the idea.
.when you put a blanket over her head she will grab it and pull it off.
.when she is on her tummy she has started to stick her bum in the air and push her self backwards.
.she has even tried to get her knees up under her.
.pretty sure she will be crawling with in the month (if I could stop her I would)
.she is so wiggly now and it is getting harder to change her diaper. (it was hard to take her pictures this month)
.she loves oatmeal.
she chews on everything.
.she is getting her first tooth and it hardly seems to phase her, except that she drools more than she did before.
.she can sign "more", but I don't think she knows exactly what it means yet.
.she is such a happy baby all the time.
.she still sucks her thumb when she is hungry or tired.

DO YOU SEE HER TOOTH?!
