Father & Son Campout!

The boys went to our Ward's Father and Son Campout, or "Boy's Camp" as Mac calls it. He looks forward to this all year. And as you can tell from the pics Hubs sent me, Mac had a lot of fun. This kid sure knows how to get dirty. Love it!!

Go BEAVS!!!

There was going to be a big family birthday party at Hubs's sister's house before the OSU Beaver game this last Saturday. Because Oak was sick, her and I stayed home and Hubs and Mac went since he was so excited to play with his cousins. Everyone had tickets to the game and they had an extra adult and child ticket so Hubs and Mac got to go to the game to. They weren't planning on it, so they weren't dressed to stay dry and warm, but thankfully his cousin Gavin had some extra clothes for him. Hubs texted me this picture and they were sitting on the front row with Hubs's whole family. I guess Mac had so much fun with his cousins. He ended up falling asleep about the 3rd quarter and they didn't get home until nearly 1 am.
I am so glad that they got to go!

Father & Son Campout...

To say Mac was excited to go camping would be a severe understatement. The day that they were to leave Mac asked me probably every 30 minutes if Daddy was on his way home from work. When it came to time for me to answer yes to that question. He went to the pile of stuff they were taking with them, that was sitting in the hallway, and checked to see if it was all there. I over heard him say, "Tent...check...sleeping bag...check...pillow...check...flashlight...check...(and so on)!" It was so adorable!!
I found his adorable shirt at Walmart.

The boys right before they left.

So excited!

Hubs said that he had a blast and that he loved roasting marshmallows (not eat them). And he pretty much just ate chocolate bars for dinner.

The only pic that Hubs texted me while they were camping.
Look at that cute, dirty face.

Legos...

So one day at the beginning of the month, Hubs and Mac went to town and ran some errands and to go to the "Train Store" (The Toy and Hobby Shop). They also took Mac's $50 that he got for his birthday from his Great Grandma. They came back with a BIG box with a Lego kit inside. And so Legos have now been introduced to our house and I don't think we can look back.
Mac still doesn't know how to put them together but he LOVES the little Lego people and carried them around constantly for a week...until he got them all taken away for very poor behavior and monstrous fits when put in time out. There was a lot of drama! He has had to earn them back by going seven days (not consecutive) without being put in time out. After today he has two days left and this started 9 days ago.
Anyway back to Legos! He loves them and to tell you the truth I love them too because they remind me of my childhood. I hope he grows to love them and love actually being able to build things with them. Daddy likes them too!!

pumpkin carvin!!

Carving pumpkins almost didn't happen. Our week was so busy, and when we weren't busy with other things, I was busy trying to get my talk written. But Saturday night late, Daddy and Mac got it done while I finished up my talk and Oak was in bed for the night.

Pumpkin head!

We have entered the cheesy, fake smile phase of picture taking. Which I am totally ok with, because it is way better than not getting a picture of him at all.

THe boys and their pumpkins.

They turned out pretty cute. At first we thought Mac's pumpkin might be too small to carve, but Mac was insistant it get carved too.

Great Grandpa...

On Friday afternoon, Hubs had an impression that we needed to visit his Grandpa C. He only lives about two hours south of us, but we don't get to see him often. We hadn't seen him since last summer at the lake house and we hadn't visited him at his house since Mac was one.
So early Saturday we packed up and headed out. It was so good to see him and I think he really enjoyed having the little kids there. He seemed really happy and upbeat. Hubs was named after him and Mac was named  after Hubs and him. So we were glad that Mac could see him and we get some pictures of them together, the three C's.

Oak teasing the dog. She couldn't get enough of her.

Mac looks so cute.

When I got these picture of the kids with grandpa, you could tell he was proud and just loved them. In this picture with Oak, he was stroking the back of her head. So sweet.

Oak for some reason really like the dog bed and kept on diving in it, oh brother!

Mac found this cowboy hat and was totally enthralled with it.

To keep Mac entertained for part of the time I let him use the camera and take pictures. He LOVED it. He took this one of Grandpa C and Hubs. I liked it much better than the one I took of them.

Father & Son campout!

I forgot to get a picture of Hubs and Mac together before or after the trip. And Hubs didn't even think about it while they were there. Hubs said they had alot of fun and Mac did great!

yard work and a helper...

Hubs ended up not working on Saturday and he decided to work on our front lawn and our garden. Mac was very eager to help. The two boys left at about 10am and they didn't come in until close to 3pm.
Pretty sure Mac was in heaven helping daddy!
Hubs said that he even wanted to actually help and work, not play.

He got nice and dirty without anyone telling him to stop!

He found a snail!

And he got to use his new tools that are "Mac size".

Pretty sure Daddy enjoyed spending the day with his boy too!
