The coast...

So when going home to my parents house, one of the things I wanted to do was go to the coast. I looked up the weather and it said that the best day weather wise was going to be wednesday. So thats what we did and the weather was so great. It was sunny, clear blue skies, about 55 degrees and just a light wind. I loved it, the kids loved and and it was so fun to go with my parents. I took some pics on my nice camera but I am too lazy to upload them.

Mac ended up digging a super deep hole that was filling with water from the bottom. He was so proud of himself.

Looking for shells.

Writing his name in the sand.

Mac drew this unicorn for Oak because she is a bit obsessed with them lately.

Grandma and Grandpa

Oak just chillin.

We attempted to go the this place but it was closed.

It is too expensive to go to the aquarium (like $20 per person) so we ended up just going to the bay front.

We were watching a couple ladies gutting fish and the kids were fascinated.

As a happy medium we went to the undersea gardens. We stayed long enough so we could watch the scuba diver in the tank.

And then of course ice cream afterwards before we headed home.

It was so refreshing!

Father's Day...

I framed these three pictures for Hubs to put up in his office. I think it turned out pretty cute for an impromptu photo shoot that took about 5 minutes and I took it with my point and shoot and not my DSLR. I made THIS one a couple of years ago and he was excited to add another one to his office.

Daddy and his kids after church. The kids were not very cooperative but were willing to take a picture with daddy.
Both kids woke up just totally out of sorts. We think they knew something was up, as in Hubs and I were leaving the next morning for a week without them. It wasn't the best day, but we survived. It started out when Mac woke up and I tried talking him into helping me make breakfast for daddy since it was his special day and all Mac did was complain that he wanted breakfast and that I shouldn't make daddy any, but just him because he was starving. Daddy did not end up getting any breakfast. Then trying to get out the door to church he would not get his shoes on and was throwing a fit about getting ready to leave and then we were late for church. He did okay during church, but when church was over Oak was running around crazy and wild and I could not get her to calm down and Hubs was being held up talking to someone for like 30 minutes and I was trying to keep the kids from being crazy and interrupting daddy. Then we got home and they were still wild and I put Oak in her crib to chill out for a minute so we could get ready to go over to my in-law's house. And she tried climbing out of her crib and fell out. Then not 5 minutes after that she was taunting Mac and he wanted her to leave him alone and she bit him hard on the back. Thankfully they were great and had fun playing with cousins at their grandparents house for dinner.

We went to Hubs's parents house for dinner. Mac looks way too grown up in this picture.

And I totally forgot to get a good pic with my dad. We were getting ready to head out of town the next morning and the kids were having a rough day so I was totally out of sorts and stressed out and totally forgot. But I did get this cute one of Grandpa D reading and the kids sitting still and listening.

A little walk with Grandma...

Last week Hubs was on a business trip that took him out of town for less than 48 hours. So we decided to head to my parents house while he was gone. The weather was so nice while we were there that we had to take a walk to the convenient store for treats.

She got really excited to see dogs walking towards her.

She was really intrigued and oddly excited by the moss in the cracks of the sidewalk.

So cute!!

Checking out the tractors that live in the field.

And of course couldn't stand to hear a dog barking behind the fence and not get to see it and pet it. This girl is crazy over animals.

And just so cute!

Christmas Day and more! {Christmas part 3}

Christmas morning we always head to my parents house. This year because it was on a Sunday, we got dressed for church and headed to their Ward before going to their house. Mac was already in a mood and really hates church so I wasn't really looking forward to taking my kids to church on Christmas day like everyone else was. But we got through it, just barely! haha!
After church we headed to spend a couple of days at my parents house.
Oak looking at her cool new doll house. (Mac actually loves it more than her, funny kid!)

Mac opening up his stocking from Gma and Gpa.

My cute parents. I took like 6 pictures and at least one person wasn't looking in each picture. haha!

Best we could do! But I love it!

We had a yummy turkey dinner and had to save our traditional Christmas morning omelette's for the next morning.

Oak really loves to rough house. And she thinks if anyone is laying down it means that she can climb all over them. Lately she will get on Mac's back and say "Gee!" (Giddyup). This time she decided to explore instead. You can kindof see Mac's birth mark on his bum.

"Gee!!" Don't worry Mac loves it!

She escaped when I was trying to get her jammies on and this is where I found her. She was saved by a handsome prince.

We decided to go bowling again. There isn't much to do where my parents live and we wanted to do something without going very far. So bowling it was!

My parents haven't been bowling in years and they loved it!!

My mom was telling me about when she was younger and she went on a date and on her turn she accidentally let go of the ball when she was swinging her arm back and the ball flew and broke her dates ankle. Or something like that! So funny!

Happy Birthday Dad!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE VERY BEST DAD EVER!!

Yesterday my parents came down to go to church with us so that they could watch Mac in the Primary Sacrament Meeting Program. Unfortunately they didn't get to watch him since he would have nothing to do with it. Oh well! But we were able to have them for dinner and to sing Happy Birthday to him. I made him No-Bakes because every time he comes over he complains that I don't have any cookies made (specifically No Bakes) and he wants some now. So that was his birthday treat. I also made him a cute framed picture/list of the Phonetic Alphabet ( I think that is what it is called) since he recently got his Ham Radio certification.

Not sure how I got so lucky, but I really DO have an awesome Dad!
My Dad really has the kindest heart. And he will do anything for me at the drop of a hat.
He is incredibly talented. And I owe him for my love of photography!
I love that we live close enough that we get to see him often.

I LOVE YOU DAD!

He is also the very best Grandpa! He will sit on his bed with Mac and spend forever telling Mac police stories (at Mac's request). He will lay on the floor and play trains with him. He has shared his love of trains with Mac and it just seriously melts my heart. He buys fun toys like big remote control cars so that he can share it with Mac.
